Whose futures count? Four practitioners who anticipate for a living, and who disagree productively about how it should be done. Anticipatory intelligence built for governments, multilaterals and investors navigating geopolitical fracture, on the premise that structural breaks are detectable long before they become visible. Pluralistic and decolonial foresight practice, grounded in the argument that many of the world's futures methods are not tagged as foresight, not formally documented, and not written in English. Technology horizon mapping run as open research by an institute that has tracked emerging technology since 2010, and is now studying how artificial agents are reshaping organisations and work. And doctoral research that interrogates whether the tools now reshaping foresight should be trusted at all. Together they widen the aperture from a single official future to a pluriverse of possible ones, and ask what responsible anticipation demands when conflict, displacement and exponential technology are all moving at once.

Building on the Applied AI workshop, this roundtable zooms out to the system level: how governments, multilaterals and knowledge institutions are navigating the AI transition, and who gets left out when they don't. Public-sector innovation at the OECD, where the live question is how to move from pilots to systems and what inclusiveness means as system design rather than sentiment. A builder-practitioner tracking where AI philanthropy money is actually going, while shipping AI-built tools himself week by week. And the fight for knowledge equity in African research ecosystems, where the argument is that sustaining a deep tech boom takes time, talent and treasure, not capital alone. An Oxford organisational theorist who studies how hybrid organisations hold social and commercial goals together — and what the evidence actually shows about when purpose survives contact with profit — joins two practitioners rewiring how money moves.
